Meet Me in Montague on Sunday 8 May, 2.30 to 4pm for a Jane’s Walk
It’s Jane’s Walk weekend from 6-8 May – free citizen led walks in cities around the world, celebrating the life and work of writer and urbanist Jane Jacobs.
Please join me to walk through Montague, a precinct of the Fishermans Bend urban renewal area. Montague is compact. It is dense with stories.
Montague is on the cusp of massive change, but it has been through this once before – in the ‘fifties – when the area changed from residential to business and industry. How did that change happen and why?
Through walking the streets with people who used to live in this once proud community, I have unique stories to share about the past.
We’ll talk about the future and what would make Montague thrive as we walk.
This is a last chance to get to know this interesting suburb before it changes irrevocably and to have conversations about what it could become.
